UBTech Iron Man Mark 50 Review

iron man mark 50

UBTech’s Iron Man Mark 50 is one of the most high-tech toys on the market, and it comes with an app that lets you control the robot. Its articulation is impressive and it’s super posable, which makes it perfect for shelf displays or toy photography.

The figure has a few minor flaws, but they aren’t deal breakers. For example, the blades attached to the hands are a little too long, and I didn’t find it easy to use them in combat. Also, the squat legs are a bit short and make it difficult to do a lot of fighting poses. Overall, however, the figure is a great addition to your collection.

A new entry into the Marvel DLX line, this 1:1 scale statue showcases Tony Stark’s 50th suit of armor. This limited edition collectible is meticulously sculpted to capture all of the sleek details of the Mark 50 armour. Its eye-popping metallic red, gold and silver trim add to its incredible movie accuracy. This statue features a custom base, two flight panels that can flip open and closed, LED lighting functions, five pairs of interchangeable hands and a movable DLX action stand for dramatic poses.

With the saga of Avengers: Endgame drawing to a close, it was important for the design team to create a suit that would help resolve the character arc for Tony Stark. The Mark 85 maintains the fluid lines of the Mark 50 and adds a more angular look that reflects the nature of the Endgame story.

While the Mark 85 does feature a more angular design, it still retains some of the fluid lines and nanotech integration of the Mark 50. The helmet’s faceplate reverts back to the traditional form of the Mark I, while the shoulder pauldron — a large shoulder covering — has a more distinct shape.

In addition to the standard repulsors, this suit can generate a variety of shields of different shapes and sizes. During the battle on Titan, the Mark L created a small circular shield to block the energy blast from Cull Obsidian and a larger rectangular one to protect against the direct impact of the Power Stone energy from Thanos.

The Mark 50 is also able to manipulate the nanites within it, which can form a number of weapons and tools for use. This includes a standard missile launcher mounted on the wrist or shoulders, extra thrusters on the arms, wings for flying and more. The nanites can even move and reform surface areas, as seen when the Mark L generated a shield on its own when attacked by Ebony Maw.
