Ironheart – The Female Iron Man

If you are a Marvel comic book fan, then you are familiar with the upcoming female version of Iron Man. In the November issue of “Invincible Iron Man,” Riri Williams will take over as the mighty superhero. Known by her fandom as Ironheart, Williams is an absolute science genius who attended MIT at fifteen and even reverse-engineered Tony Stark’s iron man suit in college. But what will become of the original Iron Man?

The Iron Man character first appeared in 1963’s Tales of Suspense. His creators were Stan Lee, an Olympic gold medalist, his brother Larry Lieber, and artist Don Heck. Jack Kirby is the artist most famous for creating the armored Iron Man. Pepper Potts is another character who frequently appears in Marvel Comics. She acts as the romantic interest of Iron Man, as well as providing him with moral support. Besides Tony Stark, Pepper Potts is Pepper Potts’ friend and collaborator.

Riri’s name came from her love interest, Tony Stark. Throughout the Marvel comics, hearts play a big part in the storyline. Iron Man’s name is a tribute to that. Riri is a science genius, and enrolled at MIT at the age of fifteen. But she soon catches Tony Stark’s attention, and a relationship begins. The comic book creator, Brian Michael Bendis, and artist Stefano Caselli spoke to TIME about the new incarnation of Riri, and about the new diversity in Marvel’s superhero line.

The first Iron Man film was based on the Marvel comics character Iron Man. It stars actor Robert Downey Jr. as the armored super hero Tony Stark. This film was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film, and it was Paramount, who then sold the rights to the movie, and Walt Disney Studios acquired the rights. However, the film still retains the name “Iron Man” because of the character’s popularity.

The film adaptation of the comic was released in 2008, and starred Robert Downey Jr. as the titular character. The film, which was directed by Jon Favreau, earned over $318 million in its opening weekend and $585 million worldwide. The film was well received by critics and audiences alike. It was the first in the MCU’s Phase One, and became the eighth-highest-grossing movie of all time. Iron Man’s success paved the way for a massive franchise of Marvel movies and TV shows.

Stark took up the company his father had founded at 21 and turned it into a huge corporation. He was attacked during his wartime service in Vietnam and suffered a severe chest wound. However, his survival was threatened by the shrapnel, which lodged near his heart. Without the help of a medical team, Tony would die. As a result, he was captured by the communist leader and imprisoned along with a renowned physicist named Ho Yinsen. Professor Ho Yinsen conceived a device that enabled Tony Stark to keep his heart beating despite his injury.
