In his many years of wearing the Iron Man suit, Tony Stark has always pushed the boundaries of science and technology. But the latest iteration of his armor has been his most technologically advanced yet — and it looks like it could give him some serious power in Avengers: Infinity War, according to EW.
Bleeding Edge Armor
The first time we saw Tony Stark wearing his Bleeding Edge armor, it was during Invincible Iron Man, where he defeated one of Ultron’s most powerful forms by absorbing the blast. This was probably the most notable instance of the suit’s defensive capabilities, but it’s not the only one we’ve seen in the comics.
While this armor was a big improvement over the previous designs, it still had its limitations. For one, it relied on an arc reactor in the chest to generate its nano-machines, which formed nanite hexagons around Stark’s body. That made for a cumbersome outfit that required a lot of space in the trunk.
Eventually, though, Stark was able to dissipate the arc reactor and create a new, simpler design for his armor. This new suit, dubbed the “Prime Armor,” is still made up of nanites but they’re formed around Stark’s entire body rather than his chest.
It doesn’t just look great, it also makes it easier for Stark to move through the air and use his powers. He can also use the suit’s rocket thrusters to fly and maneuver in deep space.
He’s also able to take on other heroes, such as Jean Grey’s Phoenix or Rogue, with ease. That said, the Bleeding Edge armor has never been quite as powerful as its namesake, and it might not be enough to defeat Thanos in a final battle.
But the Marvel team might be on to something with this armor, as a recent interview with EW revealed that it’s possible Stark has been able to access Wakanda’s nanotechnology. This means that he might be able to create his own version of the Bleeding Edge armour and take on Thanos with it in Avengers: Infinity War.
The only question is whether or not he’ll need Shuri’s help to accomplish this feat. If so, they’re likely to pool their resources in order to create the ultimate Iron Man armor, which will be even more powerful than its predecessors.
In other words, this armor has a lot of potential to be the weapon that ends Thanos’ reign over the universe, so we can expect to see it again in the future, especially since Tony has a connection to the Wakanda government.
This means that he might have access to the nanotechnology that they’ve been using on their people. And if he’s able to use it, that would mean that his armor wouldn’t just be able to absorb the energy of Thanos’ massive beam, but also to turn that energy into a weapon of its own.
That’s an impressive feat of engineering, and it’s one that will surely be invaluable to the entire team during Infinity War. It’s also an important one to keep in mind, as it will determine whether or not they’ll be able to defeat Thanos and win the war against the Mad Titan.
