Iron Man Powers

iron man powers

Iron man powers include superhuman strength and durability, flight and an array of weapons. These are all controlled by a suit of powered armor that is created and worn by Tony Stark (with occasional short-term exceptions). He can fire missiles, machine guns or lasers, and his repulsor jets can push back or destroy enemies.

The suit can also protect Stark from dangers that are too deadly for human beings, such as the radiation emitted by nuclear explosions. Using the suit’s power, Stark can emit an invisible force field that blocks the radiation from entering his body and keeping his skin healthy.

As he uses his Iron Man powers, Stark can also increase his intelligence by upping the processing speed of his brain. While this boost in intelligence may help him with his technological work, it can make him less able to focus on his emotions or understand complex situations. This is why it is so important for him to have a personal life and keep his relationship with his family a priority.

In addition to his traditional powers, the newer suits have added features. The Mark 42, for example, allows Stark to control the suit with his mind, using a form of telepathic communication. The suit can also gather metal from the environment to create components, such as a new chest plate (“Stark Unbound”) or an advanced mecha like Firepower. It also has the ability to fly without a fusion reactor (“Secrets and Lies”), and can generate force fields (“Crimson Dynamo”).

Other suits have been created with different features, such as atomic naval cannons for submarines (“Hands of the Mandarin”) or jet boots allowing infantry to move along highways at 60mph without having to board trucks (“Armor Wars”). MODOK’s condition wasn’t caused by A.I.M attempting to turn him into a computer (“Igor”), but rather by his rival the Red Ghost over his affections for the same woman (“The Armor Wars”).

Another interesting development is the creation of “nanotech” armor, which can be augmented by Stark’s personal assistant droids. These can perform many of the same tasks as the suits, including recharging the armor’s battery and analyzing a situation.

There have been some variations on the Iron Man theme, with one major example being when Stan Lee created a character called Cosmic Iron Man, an alien who could see crimes and events before they happened (“The Iron Man 2”). However, his abilities were extremely limited and he was easily defeated by the Avengers’ own precognitive superhero, Captain Marvel.
