Iron Man Hulkbuster Review

Iron Man hulkbuster is one of the best and most powerful heroes in the game. He is able to push enemy models out of position and is also a great ranged attacker. His only weakness is that he can’t really fly but his ability to upgrade his armor with advanced weapons makes up for it.

In the movie, Stark directed his top scientists to create a fearsome suit of armor that would stand up to the Hulk’s rage. It was a behemoth of a suit that towered over the hero. This figure uses the same torso and legs as the Marvel Legends UL Iron Man but with a different helmet. The helmet is a single-element version that doesn’t feature a flip-up face plate but still looks cool.

The rest of the torso is a unique build for the Hulkbuster and it’s definitely an improvement over the standard version. The figure is very solid and the articulation is pretty good. It’s not as posable as the newest Star Wars UCS figures but it’s still very good. The legs and arms are a bit weaker but that’s to be expected for a figure this size. The only downside to this is that he has a lot of visible gaps around his body which makes him look less than stellar.

Like all the Marvel Legends figures, this Hulkbuster comes with a stand and a transparent card for displaying it. It also has two slots for cards to be inserted into it, a nice touch. The only downside to this is that the stand is a little too small for this figure and it could be easily knocked off. The Hulkbuster comes with a few other accessories as well including a t-shirt and a display plaque.

There are a few things that I wish this set had included. First, I wish it had come with a new Hulk BigFig. This is something that they’ve been doing in their other sets and it’s a great way to add some extra flair to the figure. This would have also helped to hammer home the theme of Stark’s never ending quest for improvement as his original design was far from perfect.

The other thing that would have been nice is a Hulkbuster upgrade card that allowed you to move him to a different space on the board or even out of play for some reason. While I understand why this wasn’t in the set I feel it was a missed opportunity to add a bit more variety to the game. I’m not saying that the set isn’t worth buying but it would have been nice to have a little more for the price tag.
