This super easy iron man cake is the perfect way to celebrate any superhero fanatics birthday. It is simple enough to do even with zero cake decorating skills and will definitely make them gasp with a “wow” when you bring it out to the party.
Start by cutting a round butter cake into the shape of Iron man (using this template is a great place to get started). Next cover it in red fondant and use yellow pieces for his face.
Now it is time to add the details. Roll some thin strips of black and use them to create the outlines of his mask. Make indents with the flat part of your knife where shown on the template. Add the eyes and mouth.
Finally add the hulk fist using rice crispies, adding snakes of fondant for the tendons and then covering it in green fondant. Add a number to the hand and have it breaking free holding up the birthday boys age.
Sprinkle some gold sugar pearls and gold leaf around the cake for a final touch of sparkle and for added effect. Lastly add a ribbon and your awesome Iron man cake is complete. It will be the talk of the party and your little superhero will love it!
