Iron Man 2 – Why Is The Iron Man Box Office So Successful?

The Iron Man Box Office is a blend of thrills, humor, action, romance, and revenge. Robert Downey Jr. plays the title role and also provides the voice of Iron Man. With the success of the first Iron Man film – earlier known as Iron Man – comes a sequel known as The Incredible Hulk.

An international billionaire and brilliant inventor, Tony Stark (Ridley Scott) are running weapons tests in foreign countries when he’s kidnapped by terrorists. Instead, he develops an experimental armored suit and sets out on a mission to free himself and enlist the aid of an international terrorist organization known as The Mandarin. He teams up with Rhodey, a wealthy man who also has a passion for martial arts, and fights against the Mandarin’s troops. Meanwhile, Bucky (Sophie Rashid) a British spy working for The Mandarin, sends messages back and forth between the Mandarin and Tony.

The Mandarin is very clever, because he knows that Tony can’t simply trust anyone, including Rhodey, with the dangerous mission. Therefore, The Mandarin contacts Rhodey and offers him a chance to fight in the front lines while wearing an elaborate metal arm that will disintegrate into tiny pieces if ever the fight reaches The Mandarin. Rhodey accepts the offer and soon joins up with The Mandarin in battle. Meanwhile, The Hulk (Samuel L. resembled the Hulk in the earlier versions of the comic), who also has a long history with the Mandarin, fights alongside The Hulk against the enemy.

The Mandarin’s primary weapon is the ionic energy called “chameleonic radiation.” When it is combined with the Hulk’s own berserker rage, this highly contagious gas can turn humans into powerful fighters of gods. When Rhodey and The Mandarin combine their forces against the enemy, The Hulk quickly gains the upper-hand. However, The Mandarin manages to escape to a U.S. ship where he attacks an American soldier. This forces Rhodey and The Hulk to form a shield to protect the humans they are fighting against.

Iron Man 2 saw significant improvement in the second half of the film. Costume improvements were made, the language was added to the script, some background music was added (I think it was Ben Kingsley’s theme from the first film), and the plot started to develop in a logical direction. Perhaps the most memorable scene was when Rhodey, wearing his full-face mask, attacked and killed The Mandarin. For the most part, the fight was exciting, and that was a very good thing. The scenes between Rhodey and The Mandarin in the later half of the movie were sometimes difficult to watch because of all of the dialogue. The movie didn’t necessarily need to include many explosions because of how fast-paced the fight was.

Overall, Iron Man is a fun film. It is action packed, and at times answers questions we may have about capitalism. But, it also has its humor, explosions, and romance. The end result? A very entertaining movie that I recommend to anyone. The next time you see it, try to remember why the Iron Man Box Office grossed so much.
